UK mother who left children to see man in Australia gets suspended sentence

Children of Birmingham woman, who said she was off to Asda and put 14-year-old son in charge, are living with grandparents

A mother of six who flew to Australia to see a man she met online, after telling her children she was going to Asda, has been given a suspended jail sentence.

The Birmingham woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, left her 14-year-old son in charge for the six weeks. He told his grandparents hours after she left and they alerted authorities.
